Justina Sims Napaljarri

Warlpiri artist from Yuendumu in Central Australia, born in 1977 in Alice Springs and a member of the Warlukurlangu Artists art centre. A granddaughter of founding artist Paddy Japaljarri Sims, she began painting in the late 1990s and became a regular artist around 2010  . She is known for painting her grandfather’s Dreaming stories, notably Yanjirlpirri Jukurrpa (Star or Seven Sisters Dreaming), Mina‑Mina (Claypan Dreaming), and Ngarlkirdi Jukurrpa (Witchetty Grub Dreaming). Her work is characterized by bold acrylic dot paintings that map ancestral storytelling and landscapes of her country, especially the Seven Sisters narrative featuring the Napaljarri sisters, bush turkey, and morning star themes
